I spent the first day of 2012 on the Cape. And even though a lot of places were closed for the season, the local shops were still open. Chatham after a January sunset is peaceful. At night I slept with the window cracked, watched the lighthouse from far away flicker, and listened to the rain. Cape Cod is heaven on Earth.
